This 2nd post out of 9 is an image of Tiger Woods’ backswing and is taken from the February 1998 issue of Australian Golf Digest.
The image below shows Tiger loading onto his right side. He has two goals on his takeaway:
- To establish a very wide swing arc
- To shift his weight fully to his right side
Butch Harmon, Tiger Woods’ coach at the time advises to turn not slide – When you shift your weight to the right as Tiger is doing in the image, you do it by turning your hips and shoulders, not by sliding laterally. Try to turn so fully that your head moves over your right knee.
Happy golfing!
